Last month, the NCWorks Career Center of Sanford teamed up with the Salvation Army of Lee County to host a Career and Resource Fair in Sanford. The event was held at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, and approximately 60 employers and resource agencies were in attendance to provide valuable information and opportunities to attendees.
Over 180 individuals attended the event that proved extremely useful for those seeking local resources and jobs.
“We were excited to see so many come out for our Career/Resource Fair,” stated Chris Kelley, the Service Center Director for the Salvation Army of Lee County. “There were some great conversations going on and [some] people were hired on the spot. There are some great opportunities for employment and wonderful resource providers in Lee County!”
“The Career/Resource Fair was a tremendous success! We were very happy and excited with the outcome,” stated NCWorks Career Center Manager Harold Smith. “The number of employers/resource partners and applicants engaging for the common good of the community was an astonishing sight to behold!”
Both the NCWorks Career Center of Sanford and the Salvation Army of Lee County plan to team up again to host another Career/Resource fair in the Spring of 2017.
