On Tuesday, November 6th, a Rapid Response event was held for Static Control employees who will be affected by the mass layoff taking place on December 12, 2018. The Rapid Response was held at the Static Control worksite location from 1:30pm-5:00pm, and over 100 employees were served by the response team that was set in place to provide services for those individuals. Members of the response team included representatives from the following organizations: The Triangle South Workforce Development Board, NCWorks Career Center-Sanford, Central Carolina Community College, Lee County Job Seekers, and the Trade Adjustment of North Carolina. The NCWorks bus was also in operation at the Rapid Response and individuals in attendance were able to register for NCWorks Online, on site.
Several North Carolina employers were on site to participate in the Rapid Response as well in hopes of recruiting individuals that will be laid off from Static Control. These employers included: Caterpillar, Parkdale, Magneti Marelli, Coty, Aerotek, Belflex, Mega Force, Frontier Spinning Mills, Arauco, Core Mark and many more.
Once the information session ended, the employees served by the response had the opportunity to speak with the hiring companies, and some even received interviews and provisional job offers.

Overall, the rapid response was a great success. Both the TSWDB and the members of the Rapid Response team, as a whole, were glad to be able to take part in getting individuals affected by the layoff back to work full time.
